Virtual Seminar for the Launching of the publication "Equity and Social Inclusion: Overcoming Inequalities towards More Inclusive Societies"
The objective of this Seminar is to launch an OAS publication on equity and social inclusion from a rights-based perspective. It is aimed at experts, researchers and professionals in government institutions, civil society organizations and groups, international organizations, and cooperation agencies. During this Seminar, some of the authors of the publication will discuss their articles. The Seminar will address issues such as inequality and exclusion in the Americas, the challenges of the region's equity agenda, the impact of progress indicators in measuring social rights in public policies in Latin America, and the contribution of progress indicators of the Protocol of San Salvador to the follow-up to the Plan of Action of the Social Charter of the Americas and the Sustainable Development Objectives.

3:05 pm -3: 15 pm: Introduction to the Seminar, description of the agenda and objectives by the Director of the Department of Social Inclusion, author and publisher of the publication, Dr. Betilde Muñoz-Pogossian: The importance of the subject in the framework of the commitments adopted by the governments of OAS Member States at the III Meeting of Ministers and High Authorities of Social Development (REMDES- Paraguay, July 2016) and the Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development.
