On 24 November, at a joint meeting of the Permanent Council and the Inter-American Council for Integral Development (CIDI), the OAS member countries discussed initiatives to promote the Social Charter of the Americas and look for the best implementation of the Action Plan. The Social Charter reflects the commitment in the region to build more prosperous and inclusive societies, as well as the eradication of poverty.

The representatives of the countries set their positions of the relevance of the eight areas covered by the Social Charter: Work, social protection, health, food and nutrition, education, housing and public services and culture. "The Plan of Action of the Social Charter of the Americas has clear lines of action in line with the objectives of sustainable development and Agenda 2030, in addition to compliance with the plan, countries can build on existing mechanisms within the OAS and other agencies of the inter-American system.
