Based on the intervention timeline, ReSA® projects will last an estimated 5-12 months.
To improve access to and consumption of food for families targeted by the Social Inclusion and Reconciliation Administrative Sector by means of food production for home consumption, promotion of healthy eating habits, and encouragement of consumption of local food products to alleviate hunger and improve food security in the country.
From 2003 to 2012, ReSA® implemented 493 projects in 32 departments and 1,027 municipalities, and improved food security for 988,483 families, with funding from the Department for Social Prosperity and other public and private agencies, as well as contributions for the project’s expansion. ReSA® executing organizations have made additional donations of goods and services.
Recovery of diverse food products from different regions in the country, such as Guatila or citrons and maize in the Pacific Region, and consumption of guinea pig and taro.
Development of small-scale food production for home consumption through the establishment of plots for different food crops in the country’s diverse climate zones.
